Since 1930, VeraBank has grown to over 500 employees and 40 locations. VeraBank’s mission aims to grow the Bank and to serve as deeply as they can the communities in which they do business. “We want to continue to be known for quality of service and innovation,” says Brad Tidwell, President and CEO at VeraBank. To support this mission and vision, the Bank partnered with nCino to in Spring of 2021 to overhaul lending processes and streamline the employee and customer experience.

Based in Sheffield, Alabama with branches spreading throughout the state, Bank Independent is a fast-growing community bank.
However, expansion comes with challenges, including competing against larger, technology-driven banks. In order to succeed in this competitive market, Bank Independent needed to improve its inefficient communication, siloed systems, and poor visibility into loan and customer records.
Selena Suggs, Vice President of Project Management at Bank Independent, was tasked with finding a loan operating system that would streamline the bank’s processes and support its rapid growth. She knew that Bank Independent needed a software that would allow every member of their team to see what step in the loan process a customer was at and quickly move the loan from application to closing in a digital format. Selena found that nCino checked all of the boxes.
Bank Independent initially went live on nCino’s Commercial Banking Solution in January 2019; following a successful implementation, the Bank decided to expand its usage and also adopt nCino’s Consumer Banking Solution. Next on the list: Treasury Services and Deposit Account Opening.
Since the implementation of nCino’s Bank Operating System, Bank Independent has seen a faster loan cycle, improved visibility into the loan process, more efficient communication amongst its employees, and fewer manual processes. Their customers expect a fully digital loan experience, and with nCino, Bank Independent is able to deliver on that promise in a streamlined fashion.
