Allied Irish Banks is a financial services group operating predominantly in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Regarded as one of the Big Four commercial banks in Ireland, the bank provides a range of services for retail, business and corporate customers, with market-leading positions in key segments.
As a bank that is dedicated to putting their customers first, AIB introduced a range of support for customers impacted by COVID-19. The bank also funded the COVID-19 Research Hub in 2020 to help researchers solve the challenges the entire world faces.
Because AIB’s values and behaviors are focused on its purpose, which is to support their customers in achieving their dreams and ambitions, the AIB team wanted to ensure that customers have a superior experience in all of their interactions with the bank across every channel. Evolving customer expectations and competition in the commercial lending space led senior management at AIB to seek an innovative technology that would enable the bank to offer a streamlined digital customer lending process, which ultimately led them to nCino.
The AIB team began their digital transformation program by selecting the nCino Bank Operating System® because of the company’s reputation in innovation and speed, and because it could provide them with a compressive view of the entire lending process. The digital transformation began within its Asset Finance division, and by adopting nCino’s Customer Engagement Solution and Partner Portal functionality, AIB has been able to streamline their operations and enhance visibility, providing a seamless customer experience and improved workflow for employees.
AIB’s customers are already reaping the benefits of the bank’s credit transformation. By the end of 2020, AIB saw a 52% reduction in paper and their customers have experienced a 63% increase in the speed of their loan decisions. Since automating their asset finance and lending processes, the AIB team can ensure their customers receive the support they need faster, an issue that became even more urgent during the pandemic.
With the nCino platform in place, AIB is well prepared to scale its commercial lending business, stay ahead of client expectations and digital trends and enable their business to continue to deliver impactful outcomes.
