Innovation is part of our DNA at nCino. We've built a culture where experimentation thrives, from our weekly Innovation Fridays, where teams present cutting-edge ideas, to our Intelligence at Work sessions where employees discuss their AI-driven innovations directly with CEO Sean Desmond.

When we made Claude for Enterprise available to all employees, our teams were ready. They quickly began experimenting with ways to enhance their daily work, leading to significant productivity gains and a renewed focus on high-value activities that directly benefit our customers.

"Every day, our employees are showing how the right technology can make people more effective at what they do best,” says CEO Sean Desmond. “When we see an estimated $500,000 in time savings going straight back into innovation and customer focus, that's the kind of impact we're after."

Here's how nCino employees are leveraging Claude to amplify their expertise and tackle real challenges.

Product, Development, and Engineering: Customized Code Reviews

One of nCino's leading AI innovation efforts is "Craftsmanship Horse"—a custom code review system that integrates Claude Sonnet 4.0 through AWS Bedrock infrastructure. Led by Master Staff Engineer Dan Wuensch, the team designed the custom system to analyze code pull requests for efficiency, security risks, and adherence to acceptance criteria, delivering an estimated $500,000 worth of review time savings based on internal analysis of developer hours and review cycles.

"We're providing additional validation that helps us maintain quality and security standards while moving quickly," Dan explains. "AI can find needles in haystacks that even expert reviewers might miss."

Beyond identifying potential issues, Craftsmanship Horse is designed as a simulation of an encouraging, conscientious experienced mentor engineer. "I've gotten feedback from our developers that they like how affirming it is," Dan notes. "In addition to pointing out potential issues and risks, Craftsmanship Horse is designed to praise engineers for well-crafted code.”

The Craftsmanship Horse team is already planning a Version 2 with agentic AI capabilities and new Claude Code integrations. The tool has already evolved into a cultural phenomenon, with distinct personality traits including an apparent "existential crisis" every time it's added to new repositories. The team even created "Comedy Roast Mode" that has improved engagement with code review workflows.

Technical Communication: Streamlined Content Creation

Our Technical Communication team pioneered an integration between Claude for Enterprise and our content management system, enabling seamless transfer of nCino product documentation from various sources directly into publication-ready formats.

"We can transfer drafts from multiple sources or work with Claude to generate documentation," explains Kallee Britton, Senior Technical Communicator. "This integration is fundamentally changing the volume of documentation we can produce."

The integration has dramatically reduced the time required to migrate and format complex documentation, allowing the team to focus on content strategy and user experience rather than manual formatting tasks.

Learning & Enablement: Smart Automation

Our Learning & Enablement team built sophisticated Claude-powered automation workflows through their Claude for Enterprise licenses to manage user permissions and profiles across our learning platforms. The system automatically generates authentication tokens, processes user data, and updates permissions based on organizational changes.

"We saved approximately 30 hours of retroactive work, plus about 5 minutes per user update," explained Learning & Enablement Operations Consultant Alex Driggs. "The system eliminates daily manual checking, ensuring our learning platform permissions stay current with organizational changes."

Scaling Claude Adoption: Collaborative Prompt Engineering

Principal Knowledge Content Taxonomy Specialist Alex Barley has developed an innovative approach to scaling Claude adoption across nCino through hands-on workshops with employees. During each session, Alex helps teams identify what outputs they need and how to structure prompts for consistent results, which he then refines into self-service Claude projects.

"The projects already pre-contain the prompts that everyone helped develop, ensuring we're creating the exact same output," Alex notes. "A lot of the people I've worked with didn’t have extensive Claude experience previously, so this approach has reduced the entry barrier while giving them ownership and training in the process."

The workshop-to-deployment model has proven so effective that teams are adopting it for instructional design, content creation, and knowledge management tasks across various output systems—turning complex Claude workflows into accessible, self-service tools that any team member can use confidently.

Looking Ahead: Innovation with Purpose

The impact of Claude adoption has been so significant that our Global Revenue Organization launched the "Claudie Awards" to recognize exceptional innovation using Claude, celebrating team members across sales and marketing who are finding creative ways to leverage AI in their daily work.

"Creating internal AI tooling with Claude for Enterprise not only helps us operate more efficiently but offers opportunities to learn about maximizing the technology, which we can then pass along to our customers," said Paul Clarkson, EVP, Global Revenue.

This is just the beginning of nCino’s journey to transform how we work with AI as our teams continue expanding their Claude for Enterprise and Claude Code workflows, and we're excited to see where their creativity takes us next.
